In 1965 Lyndon B. Johnson created a program that would address the poverty problem of the community. This program was called the "War on Poverty". The Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska was created to be part of this program. The society is a community action and non-profit organization that aims to improve the living standards of the poor and disable population of the community.
There are ethics that the Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska follows. The professional members were passionate about eliminating the poverty problem. It is not only the food and shelter that the members provide but they also make sure that they can provide for themselves.
The Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska provided for working opportunities so that the poor would have a decent and dignified life. The society also provided for a place where their cultural heritage could be appreciated. They even provide communication and dialogue for the poor with the government offices and private sector so that their issues can be heard.
All year round the Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska sponsors activities and festivals for the community. These festivals or craft shows that the organization sponsors are usually a free admission affair. By attending there you will not only enjoy buying the crafts and arts but you will help change someones life for the better.
On April 4 and April 5, 2009 there will be Hand-Me-Downs 4 U Consignment Sale at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds, Exhibit Building, Kearney. The sale will start on April 4, 2009 from 8:00 A.M to 8:00 P.M. and for April 5 the sale will start from 8:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M. It is a free admission event and will guarantee that there will be something for everyone. on April 4, 2009 there will be Spring Festival Craft Show at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds, Exhibit Building, Kearney. The craft show will start from 9:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M.
